Plans for New Day Labor Job Placement and Research Center Announced
The new owner of DayLabor.org, a website originally founded by the Day Labor Research Institute announced plans this week to build a global job placement center for connecting day layborers with companies in need of manual and skilled general labor. The new service is part of the new Day labor Job Placement and Research Center which will utilize the capabilities ASP.Net 4.0 and a global database to provide classified advertising services backed by up to date news and media research to create the ultimate resource for day labor information.
The classified advertising service is part of a yet to be unveiled service designed to compete with Craig's List as provider of classified listing services for anything you can think about listing anywhere. The Day Labor classified advertising service is one of several niche markets selected to serve as prototype for this service. The format will be quite simple in which anyone looking to hire day labor will be able to sign up for a free membership and post a job opening while anyone looking for work can post their resume. Day laborers will be able to keep profiles active after getting hired so long as they list themselves as happily working while businesses hiring them including employment agencies will have their own profiles with links to their websites in what should turn out to be the ultimate day labor resource directory.
Not just the future of manual and skilled labor placement centers Day Labor will continue to honor the purpose for which the original owners founded it by collecting data on the day labor market and aggregating news relevant to the industry. This should solidify the future of DayLabor.org as a reliable resource for up to date day labor information.
The current launch schedule for the new DayLabor.org is to test out the news ASP.Net 4.0 URL routing tool on news and research first before applying to jobs, employment agencies, and businesses. The site should be launched sometime in late March or early April, but unforeseen technical issues will most likely push it back to mid or late April.
