Traveling across the country in an RV is fun and exciting

. But, don't get so comfortable in your cozy camper that you forget to participate in camping activities. As long as the weather is good, you need to enjoy the great outdoors during your RV camping excursions.

A lot of RV sites are close to very good fishing lakes. Make sure you look for them and take advantage of the great fishing they offer. In fact, most RV parks have personnel on hand to help you make the most of your trip. So, be sure to ask about fishing locations. They will likely point you to the perfect spot to challenge your fishing skills. And, if you're into tournament fishing, many locations also have tournaments with exceptional prizes for the winner.

Most of our national parks have good RV parks very close to them. And since may national parks have well maintained hiking trails, you can spend a glorious day enjoying nature by hiking on these trails. By hiking in a national park you'll get great exercise and, if you bring along your camera, you should be able to capture some great family memories in the process. But, don't forget to bring along a sufficient supply of water while you have fun exploring these national trails.

Another way to get the most out of your RV camping trip is to bring your mountain bikes. In addition to finding some great hiking trails, a lot of RV parks are near locations that have excellent biking trails. This is especially true in the west and southwest parts of the United States. If you plan your route carefully, you'll find some superb biking trails that will be fun for the whole family. Some of them even sponsor guided tours and other organized activities.

Maybe you and your family would like a little time riding the rapids. If so, simply plan your RV camping route to include RV parks that are close to sites that offer white water rafting. Yes, there are actually RV parks that are close to this type of activity. Just review the brochure for parks in which you have an interest. If any of them are near white water rapids, they'll certainly mention it in the brochure.

Not into riding the rapids? What about rock climbing? This is another great family activity that is growing in popularity. And, some RV camps in the mountains are close to locations that allow you to participate in this adrenaline rushing activity.

Just remember that camping in an RV doesn't mean that you have to be stuck inside all the time. On the contrary, once you find your perfect camping spot, you have to get outside and start exploring. As you explore, look for things you can do on your own and those things you can do as a family. There are a lot of activities that will get you out of that RV. Fishing, hiking, nature walks and a whole lot of other camping related activities will help you have a wonderful time and build family memories that will last a lifetime.

When you find the RV park your interested in just remember to check the park brochure for any camping activities sponsored by the park that are taking place during your stay.
