What do you do if someone asks you to take their picture

? If they hand you something that belongs in a science fiction film, you likely hand it back with an excuse like you haven't the time. If you are handed one of the modern point and shoot digital cameras readily available nowadays, you are quite comfortable to assist.

Perhaps you have never owned one of these gems. Maybe you relied on the old film-jobs. The ones where you buy a roll from the store - for a good sum of money - and load it into the back. At least you try to load it. You may find that the little holes on the side of the film don't catch the little knobs used to feed it through the camera. You may even have to read the tiny-print of the five-page insert that came in the film-box to learn how to get it in the proper way.

Did mom and dad give you the family icon? The camera they conveniently gave-up when they decided to purchase a newer and smarter digital model. You may not have needed it when you got it, but along comes a special day and you rush to quickly unearth the gift. You quickly load the film, aim it and click of rolls of shots of never-to-be-seen-again moments.

Okay, it may have never been that bad, but you have to have been there in some fashion at some time in your life. Not many of us - who are specifically interested in getting a quick memorable shot - have considered the use of an expensive camera with a lot of features that require weeks of reading and digesting to operate. Lenses, light filters, focal lengths and more can boggle the mind. The perfect compromise has been invented.

With a point and shoot digital, camera film is unnecessary. There is a memory that stores your pictures digitally - much like the memory in your computer. With this convenience comes the ability to immediately view what you have shot - right away - on the screen of the camera. No waiting for film to be developed at the store.

There is no compromise when it comes to quality. Digital cameras produce clearer and more useful pictures than film cameras. With optical and digital zoom features, you can easily zoom in on your subject making for a better picture. The digital feature allows for making a portion of the original picture larger if desired.

There are many inexpensive point and shoot digital cameras for the non-photographer interested in capturing quick - special moment shots. There are similar cameras that have slightly - or greatly - better zooming abilities. Although they are sold as point and shoot, many have filming ability that do the work a camcorder does.

With so many great reasons to purchase one of these point and shoot digital cameras, it seems silly to think no one has one yet! Clear and crisp pictures that can be uploaded or printed at home. Results that can be viewed immediately following a shot. Automatic features that make it very difficult to take a blurry or dark shot. All of these are just a few reasons to get one today!
