In everything from body care to make-up the most important thing to remember is low maintenance! New mum might have the cutest baby in the land, but she's notoriously time-poor.

Hair

An easy hair cut, incorporating layers and volume will help mum to look vibrant and healthy. Many new mums opt for the chop and banish long hair, but with the right care she needn't say goodbye to long locks just yet. Finding the perfect "emergency" up-style can be a godsend whether she goes for the high bun, messy side plait or Heidi braids, it's a great trick to have in the bag!

Wondered why so many new mums opt for darker hair colour? A colour that doesn't easily show root growth is great, and lighter colours can wash-out new mums complexion too easily.

Make-up

Top make-up artists (who are also working mums!) say no make-up routine can realistically last more than perhaps five minutes. Whittling the tools down to essentials-only is crucial.
