If you had to rip off the eyes of your attacker in order to secure your freedom, would you do it? Would you pluck out the eyes of an attacker come at you with hideous intents you could only guess at, would you pluck out his eyes for your freedom.
Many will cringe at the thought of doing such damage to another personbut i assure you in the heat of the moment when you are faced with the hard reality that the sucess of an attack is the ruin perhaps of your entire life you'll. when you can taste the fear at the back of your throat burning dry down your pipe, as the hungry attacker continues to let out sinister smirks as you are had in a corner, his corner, you will even if you'd be heavy with guilt for a while afterwards. It is only natural, only human to survive and to do anything getting freedom. The only reason why some people fall prey to attacks is that they are overpowered. If they had any means of defence they would have used it. When attacked they had no means of self defence and they become victims.
It is therefore only human nature to defend yourself when your life, or the lives of your loved ones are threatened.
A good self defence course must make you cringe at some of its proposed tactics at survival, if it doesn't make you think how can i be this hard at another person then it isn't good enough, i suggest this not because i'm a tough guy; it is just common sense; if you want a person to kick high, have him kick higher.
This talk of hard realty brings to mind another question, and this one goes to those who have somehow overcome the norm to get their hands ready for defence. With the level of martial arttraining you have do you think you can truly defend yourself if attacked? With the type of training i see fellow enthusiast receiving from so called martial art trainers i doubt if they can.
I believe the real question to prepare your mind for must be how far you are willing to go to protect your self and your loved ones. by so doing you've enter your search your self defence programs with the right attitude. Some have joined ranks with trainers that organize more or less fitness programs, survival is not about graceful flourish, and supple joints. it is about the harsh reality of putting an attaker down to escape.
