Preparing for a new year of school can be a bit overwhelming and nerve wrecking
. It is hard to know what to expect and how to react, especially the transition from Junior High to High School. The first couple of days are usually the hardest and most exciting. This is where you get to see what is considered hip and what all the cool kids are wearing.
When getting ready for a new school year there are always things that need to be purchased. It is often hard to distinguish a necessity and a want. Every new year I've started I found myself wanting the latest and greatest only to realize that it is not what I needed. Now I know that it is better to go to school for a day or two so I know what the teachers want from me and what I really need. This theory works great for any school supplies you may need. Folders, notebooks, pens and pencils can all be decided upon after the first day of class. If fashion is such a big deal then you can buy yourself a nice pair of Womens Flats by Aerosoles so you can keep up with the Jones's. Althoughl, a new pair of shoes really is a necessity. With as much time as you spend on campus you need to have a comfortable pair of shoes that you can wear all day long.
When starting a new year you need to have some goals as far as how long you will study and what g.p.a. you want to achieve. If you don't commit yourself to reading the text book then you never will. If you read the book no matter what then you will eventually develop a habit that will pay itself off in ten fold in the years to come. As you are in school, it is important to learn how to balance work, school and play. This can be very difficult for some. It is definitely not as easy as it sounds. There will come a time when you realize that at some point you need to enjoy the fruits of your labors.
Each new year presents new experiences and new opportunities. Take the time to look for these chances so you never look back and regret what you did not do. School isn't always fun but no matter what you do or where you go, you will benefit from the things you've learned in school and out of it.
