Preserving our habitat- Making a Better Place with Biosphere Technology

Our world faces one of its growing problems nowadays that could affect the entire race. Survival depends on the environment that we live in but unfortunately; due to our craving for knowledge and advancement we affect a larger part of the place that we call home. Certain attempts were made to educate people about the disaster that could happen if we continue in polluting and destroying the source of our habitats. There are a lot of factors that are involved that creates a chain reaction so as to connect one thing from another.

Everyday an average Filipino produces about 4.4lbs (2kg) of garbage a day or in a total of 29lbs (13kg) per week and 1,600lbs (726kg) a year. This only takes in consideration the average household member and does not count industrial waste or commercial trash. Sounds like a staggering number? Would you be surprised how much trash does whole nation could produce? While the numbers may be difficult to grasp, consider this; with the garbage that Asia produces alone, you could form up a line filled with garbage and waste and reach the moon.

The question here now at present is how can we minimize our ecological impact and maintain balance between ourselves and the environment? That is easy, with the advancements that we are making today we could contribute a lot of things on how to develop innovative ways on how we handle generated solid wastes.

As progress grow from time to time, a new solution has surface on how to resolve environmental problems that was brought by the waste that we gave generated. Biosphere technology utilizes high temperature saturated steam and pressure to denature micro organic disease agents. This technology provides an environmentally beneficial alternative that creates green energy. It reduces green house gas emissions by converting bio-methane into green renewable energy.

The gasification process from this technology destroys waste through thermal decomposition. This method would produce a gas much more commonly known as syngas which is used to heat a steam broiler that drives a steam turbine generating electricity. This technology controls the oxygen environment therefore it doesn't emit GHG in the atmosphere. The biosphere technology is a new mean of generating green energy while putting into effect of proper disposal of wastes.

Biosphere technology is one of our greatest weapons towards saving the planet. With the comprehensive environmental campaigns have been launched all over the world to inform people about the ecological benefits of using green energy. This green technology is a gasification process that harnesses the combustibility of solid wastes to create a heat source that produces an extremely hot steam that will then generate green electricity. It is done in a limited oxygen environment thereby significantly limiting atmospheric emissions. The entire process starts at the biosphere chamber wherein the solid wastes are entered for thermal transformation to generate the combustible gas, referred as "syngas" or synthesis gas. This gas consists primarily of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen and has less than half of this energy density of natural gas. The syngas is then used to produce electricity in a combined cycle gas/steam turbine.

The wastes that can be converted into green energy using this technology includes municipal solid waste, agricultural waste, forestry surpluses or wastes, industrial waste, medical waste materials, and traditional fossil fuels. This innovative solution is set to change the world one at a time.
