considerations as they can provide the student with more competitive advantage, more skills and knowledge for the job and many directions for personal development. However, there are some cases in which the individual should not necessarily get the postgraduate degree and still achieve a profound success just paying attention to some other things. When should one choose postgraduate studies? How can one decide on whether it is truly necessary for him or her in future career plans? The present article offers some considerations on the point of evaluating the propriety of undertaking postgraduate studies.

1. The first advantage that serves as an incentive to engage in postgraduate education is the fierce competition in the labor market. People want to have more credentials to be more suitable for the job offered, as it is evident that the candidate with the best education and the widest scope of skills will be able to take the position more easily. However, one should understand that some personal skills, leadership skills and brilliant work experience sometimes matter much more than the degree of the applicant. Hence, one has to assess his or her skills and understand whether he or she will be able to achieve success without a degree.

2. Postgraduate education is really expensive, though there are some state and private programs to assist students in paying the tuition. Therefore, one has to realize whether using the program will benefit him or her, and whether he or she will be able to apply the acquired skills in the career in such a way so that to pay off the debt to the government. The postgraduate diploma may not help in the field, and the individual may be left on the same position but with a huge amount of money owed, which will be a certain strain on his or her resources.
