Pune: The New Real Estate Destination

The city has been seeing a huge boom in the real estate industry lately

. Earlier, Pune was only seen as a pensioners paradise and a great destination for students. Now, the city has grown into a metropolis that has people travelling from all around the country to live here. The IT and automotive industries have also helped in increasing the citys popularity as a destination. So, it is of no surprise that one would see the rise of many real estate projects as well as many top real estate developers in Pune.

Today, there are more than 100 real estate companies in the city. And this can be attributed to many facts:

The city and its surrounding lands are fertile for creating commercial and residential complexes.

There has been an influx of people coming to the city, not only due to the growth of the IT industry, but also due to a number of international companies setting up shop here.

With the rise in pay packages there is a demand for bigger and better projects.

Many people from other cities like Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata to name are also looking at the city as a great place to invest in real estate.

While these are just few of the reasons behind the real estate boom, they are definitely a great reason for builders in Pune to rejoice. More demand has brought in more competition, and therefore more projects to work on. This means that real estate developers have more opportunities to create bigger and better projects. This kind of growth has also lead to the influx of international brands in various sectors. One will find a number of new hotels and malls from reputed brands around the city. IT Parks are also on the rise. One will find at least five to six IT parks coming up around the city.

And thats not all; developers are also targeting certain areas in and around the city as there is not only ample land to construct a new project but there is also a certain growth in terms of either residential projects or commercial projects that can house many companies. Examples of such areas include Chakan, Bhosari, Baner, Viman nagar and Wakad to name a few.

There are a few complaints from localites though. Many believe that this rise in the real estate industry will lead to the destruction of the citys famous mountains and hills, which has also made Pune a holiday and adventure destination. Some feel that Pune is slowly turning into another Mumbai. While there may pros and cons about the subject, one thing is for sure: one will continue to see new properties coming up in Pune.
