Ray Demarini Himself Was A Champion Slow Pitch Softball Player

I live for softball, and I firmly believe its one of the finest American sports

. I like to buy American goods, and in my mind the DeMarini Bat company is one of the last great American bat manufacturers. They are headquartered here in Oregon, and from their factories here they manufacture and distribute every baseball, softball and fastpitch bat they sell. Theyre a small homegrown company, and I would support them just for that, but the DeMarini softball bats are also some of the hottest bats out there, and many of DeMarinis fastpitch bats, like the CF4 have almost a cult-like followingby design.

Ray DeMarini is a local legend around here, and the bat company he started back in 1989 is still producing the hottest bats. They are a local institution that has been leading the pack in softball bat innovation. They were the first company to introduce a multi-wall design with the Doublewall in 1993, and with each new bat they have improved.

Being part of the community, I find that beyond just the improvements to technology and design, DeMarini softball bats are able to keep their finger on the pulse-point of the softball community. Many of my teammates were jazzed when softball was an Olympic sport starting in 1996, and we were devastated when it was removed from the games back in 2008. Knowing this, DeMarini introduced a special bat just for us nutcases, and issued a special commemorative CF3 Gold Fastpitch softball bat in 2008. This bat was released in a very limited edition. I wasnt able to get my hands on one since it was such a limted release, but one of my teammates did, and let me tell you. It was a beautiful, hard hitting bat. We fought just to get our hands on it, even for just one solid hit. They are impossible to find now, but I have seen them pop up on occasion in the used market. If you have a change to get your hands on one, I highly recommend it.

But always in touch with what we want, DeMarini took to heart another cause that rings strong with the softball our community, and released another limited edition bat: The CF4 Hope fastpitch bat which supports gaining awareness of breast cancer. What a cool way to show your support to such a worthy cause, and knock a few out at the same time.

But to me these bats arent just gimmicks to gain publicity; they are also solidly built bats that have the most advanced technology in softball bat design. The CF4 is made of carbon material thats over twenty percent more durable than their competitors, with their Pitch Black composite technology. Now I dont quite understand the science and engineering that go into these bats, but I know they pack a punch.

Im thinking about moving into slow pitch softball once Im out of college, and its good to know DeMarini is also a leader in slow pitch softball bat design. Im looking forward to checking out their Juggernaut bat line. I know a few people who in tourney leagues, and this is a super popular brand. Ray DeMarini himself was a champion slow pitch softball player, and his passion was making bats that could bring out the best in each player.
