Dog daycare is inconvenient for many working people because the pick up and drop off hours are so strict. However, when someone hires a dog walker, the dog walker will come directly to the owner's house at a scheduled time. This makes it nice if the owner works long hours and can't be home in time to let the dog out.

Although some dogs come home tired from dog daycare, they are not getting the same kind of structured exercise as they would get from a walk. Many dog daycares are "free for alls" with dogs running around in complete chaos.

Nothing replaces the importance of a good, structured walk. This is what dogs love most because they get to get out and sniff the air and get rid of their extra energy.

Many dog walkers also offer other services such as pet sitting. This comes in handy when a dog owner wants to take a vacation and has no one to watch the dog. The dog walker will already know the dog and the dog's routine.
