The formula for find the distance=v(x2-x1)+ (y2-y2)
A(1, 3)B(1,1)C(5,1)D(5,3) then
The distance between the AB =(x2-x1)+ (y2-y2)
= (1-1)+(1-3)
= (-2)
= 0+4
AB = 4.
BC = (x2-x1)+ (y2-y2) find the distance
B (1,1)C(5,1) = (5-1)+(1-1)
=(4)+0
BC=16
CD= C (5,1)D(5,3) find the distance
= (5-5)+(3-1)
=0+2
CD =4
DA= D (5,3) A(1, 3)find the distance
= (1-5)+(3-3)
= (4)
DA =16
So here, AB = CD , BC = DA. In Rectangle the opposite sides are equal. Hence it is proved.
