Sometimes we get tired of our present work, with all the hustles of traffic in Lagos, we cant wait for a change of environment, this job however, may have been your dream job when you landed it, but the years have taken its toll and you just want a new job.

Getting a new job in Nigeria may not be as easy as you think, there are millions who are currently out of job and you may not want to join them.

You should think of rejuvenating your current Career,

redifine yourself and start feeling good about your Job again

Here are steps you need to take to Rejuvenate your career.

*List your acievement and goals.*

Get a notepad and Start by making a list of everything you have achieved in your career and what you still want to achieve. Consider whether you can reach your goals in your current job. If your goals involve something that your current organisation could help you meet if you were promoted, then you may want to stay where you are for the time being. If your goals need retraining or more qualifications, then you may need to consider taking time out or moving elsewhere.

*Talk to your boss or human resources and your colleagues*

Don't make any hasty decisions until you have spoken to your line manager or someone from the human resources department. You may think that you know your organisation well and that there is nothing they can do for you, but you won't know until you ask. They may not be able to offer you exactly what you want, but you may be able to come to a compromise that suits both sides. If you're concerned that your boss will be concerned if you are clearly unhappy in your job, then couch your enquiry in terms that suit - state that you are looking for a new challenge, for example.

*Seek outside career advice*

If you are unsure whether staying in your current job or even career is a good move, then you should consider talking to a career adviser. Provided that you update them on your background, they should be able to come up with some options for you - possibly even ones that you hadn't previously considered. Sometimes, it is merely the act of talking to someone else, who is completely objective, that can help you to decide what direction you need to take next.

*Try out new routines*

Try out new routes to your work place, change your regular break time, your wardrobe.

Sometimes, what you need is a change of environment. It may be that seeing the same four walls people every day is preventing you from moving on in your career. If there is an option to work at home, either part-time or full-time, then try that. Alternatively, if there is another office that you could transfer to, then that could suit you - even if it means that the job
