Every person was involved into process of career job searching at least once in his/her life. This process is not simple, but may lead to positive results. A correct career planning predetermines these results. Rational career planning is already half of success. Remember, that career planning are of two types, depending on the period of time. These are short-term career planning and long-term career planning.
1. Short-term career planning
Speaking about short-term career planning, it concentrates on short period of time. It means that you should set the goals that are achievable within short periods of time. From the very beginning, try to get rid of all personal and general barriers that are obstacles on the way to your dream. Personal barriers are your own fears that mingle you to achieve the desirable goal. These fears are connected with unawareness. It is always very difficult to start something new and unknown, as you do not know that problems wait for you on the way.
2. Long-term career planning
Long-term career planning is connected with making clear sighted plans for future. This type of career planning can be done in the case if you choose a career for a long time period. In general, while doing a career planning, try to analyze the present style of your life. Do you like your present activities? Determine your expectations from future job.
How do you define success? What is the meaning of success and what are the most appropriate and effective ways to achieve it from your point of view? For what are you ready in order to achieve a desirable goal? What do you expect from your future job? Do you possess the skills that are necessary for this job? What are your personal features? How do you define your personality? Are you self-assured and purposeful enough? Answering these questions will help you to choose the job that is right for you.
