It's not the outcome you wanted. Things have been tough all over but there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel. You hope so. The one thing in your opinion that would make that light a little brighter is getting your ex back.
It was your fault and theirs but at the same time it was just one of those things. The two of you cared for each other greatly (still do) but the ride got a little too bumpy for the both of you. The best thing to do in your opinion was to go your separate ways.
Some time has passed and it is dawning on you that you don't particularly care for that idea. To put it bluntly you hate it. Your ex is special and has meant so much to you that you will work extra hard to get them to come back.
That's all well and good but the best way to prove it to them and yourself is through actions. During the initial stage when you are trying to get you ex back you may make all kinds of promises to them and to yourself. That's a trouble spot for the simple reason you may be promising more than you can deliver.
But still at that point it is just merely words. You have to show them that you mean business and that the changes you are trying to implement are just not a temporary ploy to get them back.
The best thing to do is give them some room and start working diligently on yourself. Be patient because change rarely if ever comes overnight. When it does happen no doubt your ex will be able to tell there is something different about you. That can tilt the odds of getting them back greatly in your favor.
