, administration of airports always put forward their efforts to augment air traffic by modifying its navigation and landing facilities, General Aviation Terminal (GAT) of the domestic terminal of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos has initiated their plan to modify its another eleven airports in entire Nigerian region, which is expected to inaugurated within short span of time. The ministry of aviation has took this step to boost aviation industry in Lagos for better return on taxes and APD, the standardized form of airports will give navigation and landing protections with a lot of air travel facilities that enable passengers to arrive their destinations without any annoyance.

The Aviation department has received grant of N648 million from Aviation Minister, Princess Stella Oduah, modification of GAT air port will bring huge traffic from various regions of world to seek pleasures of Lagos its traditions and cultural treasure, travelers that always looking for reliable Flights to Lagos they would countenance several alternative flights for their destination subsequent to completion of planned Project. After modification of GAT airport aviation department of this facility would handle 12 flights at a time. According to statistics of Ministry of aviation department it has capacity to handle 2.8 million passengers per year. First phase of this project has completed at the moment and second phase has started with modification of another 11 airports as well in Nigerian region. Various political issues and social debates have arisen over remodeling of airports, regarding bidding process, sources of funds that have created disarray, passenger discomfort and airlines inability to meet up with their schedules.
