Renault to launch five new cars by 2013

FRENCH AUTOMOBILE giant, Renault S.A's Indian wing is all set to roll out five new cars between mid-2011 and mid-2013

. The new products will also include small cars which will be launched in 2012. Renault is the best car making company in the world. Taking a note of the brisk demand in one of the fastest automobile markets in the world, the notification was issued by Renault's India chief Sudhir Rao.

Attending the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) summit in New Delhi, Rao said that at present the company is at the conceptualisation stage for a car that would meet the requirements of the Indian market. Refusing to give further information about the cars, he said that it is too premature to comment right now, but the company is very flexible with the plans.

Emphasising on the company's global approach, he said, that the cars will be developed in such a manner that it will be exported to other countries as well. With all the models suiting the requirements of the customer, Renault's all five models will be all set to hit the roads by mid-2013.

The cars will be manufactured in Chennai and will be rolled out along with its strategic alliance with another leading car manufacturer, Nissan. The cars will be branded under Renault.

Apart from this, Renault-Nissan will launch a economical car with Bajaj in 2012.

With such expansion moves, Renault's global reach from India is expected to grow at 50 percent from the current 40 percent in the current fiscal year.
