Somewhere along its length, the beach becomes San Sebastian (Metro: Barceloneta), a traditional and popular stretch with locals and consequently crowded, noisy and very jolly.

Barceloneta is not far from the old city area (Gothic area) with La Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya. Strolling along the boardwalk, passed cafes and shops towards the city centre is a lovely way to spend your afternoon and get out and about with the Barcelona people at large.
