Alisha, her dance troop, and their kids arrived in Savannah following a grueling sixteen hour drive

. The adults were drained and the children irritable. They arrived at the dorm apartment of another troop member with plans to stay there. Their manager had strongly recommended that they reserve hotel rooms for their stay. She had even lined up rooms 2 times, however Alisha cancelled both times. She said theyd be fine staying on campus with Renee.

Upon their arrival Alisha saw that the manager was right, there would not be enough room for the four adults and 3 children there. It was after 11PM when Alisha grabbed the yellow pages looking for nearby hotels. The manager went on the internet, however had no luck. Alisha found a motel and called, wonderful, they had rooms! She loaded everyone back into the van and headed over. After a short drive they arrived at a motel whose front lobby and check-in area was encased in bulletproof glass. The clerk serviced them through a slot. They paid, got keys, and headed to the rooms.

Alisha opened the door to a dank, dimly lit room with damage and peeling paint on the walls. Shelly opened her door to a large roach crawling up the wall. The beds looked old and sunken and both rooms smelled moldy. The toilet in Alishas bathroom leaked and the clerk advised, try not to use it. Shelly, her daughter, and Julie decided theyd rather sleep in the van. They went back to the front desk and requested a refund, got back in the van, and spent the next couple of hours looking for lodging. The moral of this story, its crucial that you make hotel reservations before leaving home.
