Resume For Oracle Consultant

Writing a consultant resume can be challenging as a consultant has to take multiple

short duration jobs, that makes it difficult to mention them all in the resume. Here are some points that you should refer to and keep in mind when writing an Oracle consultant resume or a resume for oracle ERP consultant.

Length and Format

An Oracle consultant resume should contain all the relevant information, without being too long. Typically you should put all your skills, educational history, achievements and personal information on one page with second page reserved for your professional history or previous job experiences. In mentioning previous work experiences or projects, be very clear about your role in them and keep the descriptions short and precise.

Chronology

Most recent experience would be of much greater importance in writing an Oracle consultant resume, compared to older experiences. When listing your past experiences and certifications, it is a good idea to put the most recent ones first. Also you should remove older job experiences and projects or mention them in brief if the resume seems to be getting too long.

An alternative form of ordering is to order by relevance, in which the experiences and certifications most relevant to the job for which you are applying are placed in the beginning.

Resume Targeted for Permanent Job

When you are applying for a permanent job, large number of short duration jobs may give the impression of job hopping, which would make an employer reluctant to hire you. You should group your past work experiences and put multiple jobs under the umbrella of the consulting firm or agency name through which you received those jobs. In case if you are self employed you can use the name of your firm or simply use your last name followed by services. This way you can mention in general what you did with individual jobs presented in a bulleted list.

Also try not to leave any gaps in your work history as this leaves a bad impression when you are applying for a permanent position.

Experience

The experience is one of the very important factor when applying for any Oracle job and especially so in case of an Oracle consultant or Oracle ERP consultant. Clearly state your experiences with different projects and industry domains. In case of Oracle ERP consultant mention the ERP modules that you have worked on and had experience with.

Knowledge Transfer / Training

Mention your part in any knowledge transfer, training program or development of training documents related to Oracle ERP, in your Oracle ERP consultant resume.
