Revenge, The Basics

Revenge is one word for the aspiration to get even and it is an act of reciprocating another individual's actions negatively for getting ashamed or hurt. Sometimes revenge is just done out of one's ambition to make another individual feel shame in the same as he made one feel it. Some people get revenged at even without knowing that they have done something wrong to others.

The main reason for individuals looking for revenge is that they feel indignant about having to suffer from embarrassment or humiliation and they want to rise up and do something to those who have done these to him to satisfy their pride. This kind of sensation is almost instinctive to a lot omargin-b especially when they a physical or emotional aspect of them is being oppressed.

When somebody feels injured or lost especially in unjust circumstances, he tends to feel anger, envy, or shame and this causes him to want to seek revenge. This kind of emotion is stirred by just a mere unconscious act that is done tactlessly or without any bad intentions. A more common cause of this is when the individual gets reprimanded openly or when someone deliberately hurt him physically with bad intentions in mind.

The person may also feel sorry for his present disposition or for fellows who are in similar or lower dispositions and thus he tends to hold it against the one with the better disposition especially when this was acquired in foul means or the other person is not deserving of the better disposition.

Some people also become very firm when it comes to defending honor and so when someone has done enough to trample honor, whether this honor is of the individual themselves, or of his friends or of his organization or group, he would do whatever it takes just to defend this honor and bring back good name and dignity.

How people get revenge can vary from one person to another. There is a truly long list of ways on how to get revenge but the common thing among these ways is that these ways are just the means to an end which is gratifying the wish to bring back lost pride, honor, or bruised self-image.

One way to get revenge is to teach the attacker a lesson by doing to him the same thing or something similar d so that he will experience exactly the same thing as you did. Another way is to make the attacker learn his lesson by punishing him of wrong deeds such as breaking rules or cheating. Telling one's side of the story especially with strong foundations or witnesses is another way to get revenge particularly when the attacker is spreading a wrong and twisted story so as to make the attacker feel ashamed and defensive.

The best form of revenge though, as famous quotations go, is forgiveness and living well even after getting shamed or hurt. This is because it's only through these that the person attacked will feel genuine peace and it shows a good side of a person which creates a good image for others.
