Ambit energy was founded in early 2006 by Chris Chambless and Jere Thompson over a lunch meeting regarding energy deregulation. During that lunch they decided to work together and build the biggest and best retail energy company without compromising for the sake of growth.
Today Ambit Energy is a retail electricity and natural gas provider servicing three states, Texas, New York and Illinois. Because of the nature of their business, Ambit Energy is licensed which gives it a certain amount of credibility that some other mlm companies may not have. The only downside is that the company only provides a service to 3 states which greatly limits a marketer's prospecting area.
There are two types of Ambit independent consultants: marketing consultants and affiliate partners. Marketing consultants are independent consultants who enroll in the Support and Services program. This costs a one time fee of $429 and for this they receive a business builder kit, access to the back office management tools and access to the company's consultant support group. When you become an Ambit consultant you can get involved with helping large organizations such as schools and homeowner schemes, raise money by sponsoring them as affiliate partners. An affiliate partner can earn large commissions by introducing customers to use the Ambit energy service. As the sponsor, you receive customer residual income and customer residual bonuses for every customer that your affiliate enrolls. The compensation plan is generous and there are several different income streams to work towards. What makes this compensation plan different from others is that a consultant will also receive residual commissions based on the amount of energy consumed by the customers that they have signed up.
So it Ambit Energy a scam? Most definitely not. It is a company providing a service to an end consumer but in order to make any money you need to know and understand marketing techniques and strategies in order to be able to build a successful team. Without these skills, you will definitely struggle to recruit new customers.
