The Boston Marathon is the oldest marathon held in the U.S. Started in 1897, the race is held every April and attracts runners from all over the world; it's no wonder that the race is ranked as one of the world's best-known racing events and is considered one of the five World Marathon Majors.

The marathon, which spans the length of this historic city, is open to all runners from all nations, but everyone must qualify for the race by completing another marathon within the time allotted at least 18 months prior to the race. Whether you're watching from your condo or apartment or on the street, this is a race not to be missed.

The Luck of the Irish

Many will argue that there is no better city than Boston to celebrate March 17, or St. Patrick's Day. Known for having a large Irish population, Boston has at least 8 St. Patrick's Day parades scattered around the city, but the most famous takes place in South Boston. The parade is listed as the second largest parade in the country, having been in existence since 1901. Today, the historic parade is viewed by nearly 600,000 to one million people every year, in addition to being broadcasted on television.

The parade is a guaranteed to be a great day had by all, so grab your green and just follow the sound of bagpipes out of your condo or apartment!
