Previously you worked for a company and every week you got paid on the mark and everything was okay - nothing special but you had no fears. The boss drove up in his shiny new car; while you drove around in your 10 year old clapped out banger - plainly he was doing a little better than you! Surely it's time for a change; and the only person preventing you is yourself! Set-up your own cigar business now! Working your own cigar business is probably something you have thought about for many years; but what has prevented you in the past? It is understandable that being your own boss possibly will be the most demanding thing you ever do, except imagine the rewards.
So how do you run a business? You've always been the one who is told what to do. Immediately the shoe is truly on the other foot - you give out the commands now. But what guidelines do you give to your staff? What indicators do you transmit? How do you recognize if what you are doing or saying is the right thing for your new cigar business? It was straightforward in the past...the boss spoke...and you executed what he/she said then you got paid at the end of the day. This is a little harder, if you get things wrong now, not only will you not get rewarded (or get remunerated less), your lack of decisiveness could impact negatively upon your staff.
This is finally it; you've completed the jump and you are running your own business. This is the phase when you need to truly focus on what you want for your business and your way of life. Try to keep the two away from each other as much as possible...this can be extremely complicated for a lot of people in particular if you now work from home. Keep in mind though the entire point of working for yourself is to improve your life in it's entirety. Don't let the new business be "An Albatross around your neck"...it's there to get you the rewards you have always wanted.
However the large bank balance helps!
Were you one of those at school? Who's class report said..."Nothing good will come out of this person!" What a sensation that would be to go back into your old school and say to your old teacher - "look I am running my own business now - how's the schooling going these years?"
We live in a big world; their are hundreds of cigar businesses - but they aren't all identical; as a new industrialist it is your mission to run your business the most professional way you see fit by your experiences you have gained in life so far.
Hardly any people start their own business - most people don't have the nouse. The point is do you have it? Are you motivated to turn out well in business as well as in life?
