SAP B1 is reasonably strong (it is priced a way below comparing to such high end solutions as Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle E-Business Suite) in such areas as CRM, Requisition Managements, Inventory Replenishment, Picking and Packing, Shipping and Receiving, Simple Discrete Production, Field Service and Warranty Contracts and Humane Resources. It is also available in foreign languages and has localization modules and ISV channel add-ons in many countries. Lets begin with midmarket multinational company

Couple of years later management decided to choose SAP B1 as worldwide Corporate ERP system including Chicago office and manufacturing facility

3.Rental Contracts. Here the emphasis was made on Field Service module with its technical service logs, invoices billable or covered by warranty. Keeping inventory items on the company balance was implemented through transferred to technician and returned from technical functionality

4.Complex managerial reporting and its realization in Crystal. Several companies were struggling in getting their custom reports, such as Sales Commission, Customers Statement, Bill of Lading and Monthly P&L based on alternative cost. SAP recommends Crystal for managerial reporting however the job is not easy as there is learning curve where consultant is trying obvious shortcuts including Wizards. In our opinion good Crystal Report should abstract its SQL data pulling logic from the design itself

In Russia there is strict regulation on Quarterly and Annual reporting to tax agency. Chart of Accounts is dictated as well as General Ledger turnover procedures. For example account 20 general production is taking expenses from numerous subaccounts. SAP BO is more suitable to accrued accounting principles. The decision was made to use SAP B1 as ERP to report to the shareholders and management team and 1C Accounting (Russian accounting package) to receive GL transactions and cover federal tax filing reporting
