3) Use your coat closet as the organizational center for your family
. Shelves are very useful here. If possible, designate one shelf per family member. Use baskets, bins, calendars, cork boards, whatever you need to keep things running smoothly in the morning. Hang everyone's coats on cedar hangers and insist on them going back in the second they come in the door. The cedar will absorb any moisture on the coats and keep them fresh for the next day. Create a check list for kids that constantly forget their jacket, lunch, or homework. Leave reminders for yourself about meetings, field trips, projects and more. Taking a quick glance and having everything that you and your family needs at hand is incredibly helpful on busy mornings.
