Screen protectoris used to protect the LCD screens of electronic gadgets
. PDAs and Touch screen mobiles which are the most common used gadget for which screen protectors are used since these PDAs and mobiles are operated via astylus and if not used carefully, the tip of the stylus can potentially scratch the sensitiveLCDscreen so the screen protectors were introduced. First screen protectors were made from very thin films based on the concept that an extra layer between the screen and stylus would provide the needed protection.
They come in packs of 10 to 20 protectors and are hand-cut by the end consumer to fit the gadget. But these protectors, while offering extra protection, did not completely fill the need. As they peeled up easily and they scratched almost as easily as the screens they were needed to be changed very often. Nowadays screen protectors are made from a much more durable film and are designed to be a more permanent part of the gadget. It is made from the material is aurethanebased film which is a little thicker than traditional screen protectors but the film is hardly noticeable once it is installed on the device.
It is hard to remove and leaves a sticky residue which is a negative point in this screen protector. This screen protector is also made in small sizes, not recommended for bigger than four inches. Another problem with this protector is that since the film is clear, there are problems with UV rays emanating from the display to the eyes and bounce back from the sun rays.
