Scrubs For Nursing: Functional But Misunderstood

Perspective is a funny thing. Although the world around us pretty much remains consistent most of the time (barring some revolutionary change in the way things work), there is a massive amount of power in our perceptions. The way in which you see the world based on your background, your expectations, your experiences, your hopes, and information other people tell you can provide limitless amounts of influence on how you react to things in your every day life. You may not realize it, but your perceptions shape everything that you sees, so you are probably by now used to your own vantage point. However, that does not mean that no influence is being exerted; arguably, your perceptions have more of an influence if you dont realize their power.

Perceptions based on your perspective affect everything, including how you view others, and even situations that dont have a direct bearing on your life. For example, if you have limited experiences in one area or aspect of something, you might misunderstand things due to your perceptions or at the very least see them differently than others. One example is that if you are not involved in the health care professional or the medical field, you might not exactly understand the purpose and character of scrubs for nursing. These items of clothing are among the first sights you see when you enter a medical treatment center, but they can be confusing because they may seem out of place. If your perceptions are influencing you based on your lack of familiarity with this field, then you may see scrubs for nursing as a bizarre, out of place kind of clothing that doesnt belong in the professional fields of medicine and health care.

To see how incorrect that perception is, you would have to have experiences on the other side of the situation, such as being a worker who has to wear scrubs to work. Instead of seeing this type of clothing as somehow goofy or unnecessary, you would perceive the clothing as your uniform, something that needs to be worn all of the time and that is integral to your profession. This slight change in perception can have a dramatic effect on how you view scrubs or even the professionals who have to wear them. Shifting perspective is a tricky thing to understand, but once you do, you may see the world very differently.
