Seattle Seahawks - Waiting For This Year's Season

Hailing from Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Seahawks are part of the Western Division

of the NFC - the National Football Conference - in the NFL - the National Football League. They were one of the two expansion teams that joined the National Football League in 1976, the other being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

They have played in the American Football Conference as well as the National Football League Championship Games, being the only team to be able to do so, so far. In the Super Bowls, the Seattle Seahawks played and lost the Super Bowl XL to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have reached the playoffs ten times in all. Their current home field is Qwest Field, which used to be known as the Seahawks Stadium between 2002 and 2003.

In this year's draft, the Seahawks made pick number six in the first round - Russel Okung, an OT from Oklahoma State. They also picked Earl Thomas, Texas S, on a trade from Denver, the 14th pick in the first round. Down the line, they made various other choices, to go with a few other new players for the upcoming season. Their fans are extremely hopeful about the upcoming season, and are waiting with crossed fingers for the Western Division games.

There is just a couple of months left for the upcoming NFL season this year - and after the excitement of the drafts, things are looking good for football fans across the country. The Seahawks have their own flagship station - KIRO 97.3 FM, and their games are broadcasted on a total of forty-seven stations in five American states - as well as in Canada. In terms of network coverage, this gives the Seattle Seahawks the largest area.

The Seahawks are also known to have some of the loudest NFL fans, and the noise level in Qwest Field, their home stadium, has been known to reach 137 db.
