'This for that' is a good tactic to adopt, particularly if you want to lose weight. An example is instead of having a chocolate bar, why not opt for a 97+% fat free hot chocolate drink, you will still get your chocolate fix but without the high fat/kilojoules and of course it will fill you up. Swap your regular salad dressings for reduced kilojoules dressings instead. Instead of creamed soups opt for water/broth based ones instead. Get the picture?
Go for the caffeine - sip a black coffee, skim latte or have a cup of tea.
Caffeine is a great stimulant, it wakes up the body and your metabolism. It is also good for the mind and has been proved to increase mental focus. Hot beverages in general give a feeling of fullness in your stomach if you are hungry. Black coffee, skim milk varieties of coffees and also black tea are all good quick and easy 'pick-me-up'. Black/White teas are especially good for you - rich in flavournoids and antioxidants to help fight the free radicals that are in our systems. Green tea helps to increase your metabolic rate, lower blood cholesterol, is great for your digestive system, lowers hypertension and tastes great!!
