If it's for a child's room, for instance, you probably won't need something that has a lot of options and high-resolution screening. But if you watch a lot of movies, or do a lot of gaming, high-definition is something to consider.

Next, try looking online to see what stores have the best deals; that will also help you arrange your budget accordingly. Stores like Circuit City and Best Buy, which specialize in electronics, might have some great options for you. You'll also be able to decide what brand you like best this way, too. It's a lot easier to check out your options online first, rather than in a store, which can be frustrated and tempting to overspend.

While looking for prices, if you decide to buy online make sure you factor shipping price into your total TV budget, as well. Some stores might deliver for a nominal charge, if there's one in your area. Buying a TV can be simple with some simple suggestions.
