When you apply a stun gun to an assailant for 3 to 5 seconds it causes the body to over work rapidly depleting it of all blood sugars needed for energy. So the assailant can do nothing.

Before you need it for self defense, it is best to find out how to use it. Here are some tips.

1. Make sure you follow the directions. Misuse may void the warranty, cause injury to you or worse yet not work properly in time of need.

2. Check for legality in your state either online or at your local police department.

3. Learn where to apply the stun gun. Six optimum targets right and left upper hip, upper shoulders and below the rib cage.

4. Know where the safety switch is to avoid accidental firing. Keep your fingers away from the contacts.

5. Practice-get used to the sound and flying sparks so you are not startled. Practice so it becomes second nature to you.

When are you getting one?

I always advise that if you feel threatened to hold up your stun gun and warn "back off." Sometimes the sounds and flying sparks of a charging stun gun are enough to scare the bad guys away.

If you think crime can only happen to the other guy you are wrong. The "other guy" is thinking the same thing and to him you are that "other guy". There is a reason why they call it self defense. You have to protect yourself, your family, your home and business!!
