The advantage with this form of business is that you do not necessarily have to lease shop space in order to start a massage parlor - you can start the sessions at the comfort of your own home as long as you have the requisite massage therapy training. That said, doing it from your home will require you to build a significant pool of regular customers in order for you to start earning a regular income. A better approach and one that is likely to see you get more customers, is renting a room at an already established spa where you can tap into the existing clients of the spa.

One of the most popular self employment opportunities today are in the technology field - and this is no surprise given the great inroads that technology has made into virtually all aspects of life. Even though very many people today own computers, a good number are not comfortable PC users. You can set up your own business as a computer consultant where you can help end users in your area with simple tasks such as software installation, networking, data recovery and software patching. Each of these tasks is not difficult to do given the amount of free tools and tips freely available on the internet. Other tasks that you can do include basic troubleshooting, virus removal and on site training.
