Should You Apologize To Your Ex Girlfriend If You Want Her Back?

Apologizing always sounds like the right thing to do

, so if you are in a situation where you are hoping to be able to patch things up with your ex girlfriend, it would probably seem like the first thing that you should do is apologize to her for anything that you have done wrong. Of course, as many guys have learned the hard way, just saying that you are sorry to your ex girlfriend doesn't always make things right and it doesn't always mean that she will accept your apology and take you back.

You have to be careful about the way you apologize and what you apologize for.

If you don't really know what it is that you did wrong or what it was that made her want to break up with you and you apologize to her for something that she doesn't even consider to be the reason why things ended, the apology may not really do a thing to make her change her mind. She might even consider that to be a sign that you are not right for her or that you are not ready to be in a relationship and that may mean that you will have no chance at all at being able to get her back.

On the other hand, if you do know what it was that made her want to break up with you, then go ahead and apologize. Just don't overdo it. Yeah, saying that you are sorry to your ex girlfriend too many times can also be a bad thing. It can make you sound weak and that is not good at all. Or, it can make the apology sound insincere, more like you are just saying anything that you can to try and plead with her to come back to you.

Making an apology to your ex girlfriend is really only good when you know what it is that you have to say you are sorry about and if she believes that you really are. If she suspects that you are not being real about it, then you might find that making an apology to your ex girlfriend ends up doing more harm than it does good for your chances of being able to get back together with her.

Most importantly, if you want your ex girlfriend to believe that what you are saying is true, you need to show her that you are sorry by changing your actions. If, for example, she felt that you did not spend enough time with her and you apologize for that but then go right back to ignoring or neglecting her, then all it will look like to her is that you were just saying things to win her back, and not because you really meant it. That's not going to look good to her and it won't help you to win her back in the end.

So, go ahead and apologize to your ex girlfriend. Just make sure that you know what it is that you are actually apologizing for and make sure that you mean it and that your actions back up what you are saying.
