Six Bachelorette Party Do's and Don'ts
Every "bride-to-be" wants their bachelorette party to be memorable
. But they don't want this event to be memorable for the wrong reasons. By planning ahead and using some common sense, bachelorettes should be able to keep themselves out of trouble without compromising their ability to have a good time. Here are some bachelorette ideas to ensure the party is memorable in the right way.
First rule of thumb: Avoid holding the party the night before the wedding. Your "husband-to-be" doesn't want to start his new life with you by receiving a sloppy, wet kiss from his still-sloppy drunk wife. Instead of making this a memorable event based on positive things, it now becomes a memorable event based on potentially negative things. It's obvious that your husband would rather be dancing the night away with you rather than playing "babysitter" to the alcohol-poisoned bride. Plan your bachelorette party at least a week in advance to prevent yourself from making a bad choice.
Bad Choice #2: Bringing cameras and camera phones to the bachelorette party. If there is potential for this bash to get a bit naughty and out-of-control, then there is no need to produce potentially incriminating evidence. If you want drama in your life, audition for reality TV. There is no need for it at the beginning of your marriage.
Bad Choice #3: No Ink after drink. Getting drunk is one thing. Getting drunk, then getting a tatoo is another. You don't need a lasting reminder of one of the dumb choices that you made just before your wedding. Life can sometimes be filled with a list of regrets. Don't make this one of them.
Bad Choice #4: Transportation to the Destination. There is no reason for you to drop a few extra dollars for a limo, so your girlfriends can get safely to-and-from the party. This becomes even more evident when alcohol is involved. Making sure your girlfriends are safe so they around for your wedding is a lot better than making plans to potentially attend their funeral. Your girls will love and appreciate you for that!
Bad Choice #5: Leave Mom, Grandma, and the in-laws at home. It's probably not a good idea to invite these lovedones, especially if things are going to get a little wild. It's also best to just invite only 20 of your closest females. Inviting people you don't know or who are just casual acquaintances could lead to a big mess of trouble. You never know if any of them might gossip, which could get back to specific people. This could potentially damage or destroy relationships. Be extremely selective on who you invite!
Bad Choice #6: Not following proper etiquette. The tackiest thing any of the bachelorette party guests can do is require the "bride-to-be" to come out of pocket...for anything. The bachelorette or the organizer of the event should make sure that all guests are comfortable paying for any and all costs incurred during the party.
If you follow these simple tips, they should prevent you from making bad choices during your bachelorette party. You'll find that the odds of having a good time without any drama or conflict will significantly increase. Remember, all it takes is a little planning and some common sense. Make your decisions wisely. After all, the bottom line is to have fun to make the party memorable.
