Skin Care To Prevent Acne
One of the problems that trouble teenagers is acne
. It is quite distressful and embarrassing for the young people. Paradoxically, that is the age when they are most concerned about their looks and appearance. Acne is one problem that appears to have not spared anyone, teenagers or adults.
Pubertal girls are usually the worst affected. This is so because acne is a hormone-related problem and teenage is the time when hormones become volatile in them, especially during menstrual periods. The reason for this is, as the hormonal activity increases, the sebaceous glands under the skin produce excess oil which is natural skin moisturizer. Disappointing thing is that acne invariably shows up on prominent spots of the young bodies that affects their fashion trends.
In some cases, after acne troubles a person for a long time, it disappears leaving permanent and prominent scars on the face. Since this experience is traumatic, people attach a great importance to this problem and try to do everything possible in order to prevent acne, even though it is difficult to do so.
Till recently it was believed that oil-laden foods, poor skin care, chocolates and emotional upsets were all the reasons that can cause acne. However, the recent research studies have brought out that these things have no bearing on the problem of acne. There are several artificial products available for preventing or controlling acne. Although, these products are meant to fight acne, the truth of the matter is that camouflaging acne using these cosmetics is far more harmful than not treating acne at all. These cosmetics can severely aggravate acne conditions. Some of these cosmetic items even work adversely by obstructing the sebaceous glands. This will prevent the excessive oil from oozing out. This review on cosmetics in fact holds good for the acne-prevention solutions as well.
