Warner Bros. have delighted us with Smallville for almost ten years now but sadly, all great things must come to an end, with its tenth and final season due to wrap up in May 2011.

During its successful decade, however, it's become something of a veteran show, maintaining an impressive following.

Even after moving the show to a Friday night in the US during season nine the toughest night of the week, with a line of up that would unnerve even Superman himself Smallville managed to withstand the storm and held its 2.6 million viewers.

So there is clearly a loyal following of avid fans out there, but are you a real fan? If so, you'll be able to smugly admit your knowledge of the fact that Tom Welling, regardless of the fact he plays who is to become Superman isn't actually a fan of comic books that star superheroes. Templeton Secondary School in Vancouver is where the interior scenes of Smallville High are filmed. Since the production team had painted many areas of the school with Smallville High's fictional colours of red and yellow, the real life school officially adopted those colours as its own.

Smallville is due to take the Guiness Record for the longest running consecutive sci-fi television show in North America.
