Furthermore, SMS APIs can work both ways, adding an interactive element. A perfect example would be an SMS text sent out to promote an event at a night club, to which people could reply in order to secure their place on the guest list and get a free drink.


When used regularly, a strategy such as this promotes word-of-mouth marketing as more people want in on the act, which leads to hugely increased brand awareness and a larger mailing list for future promotions.
