Many standard uses of foam can easily be met through standard stock foams from any reliable specialist foam supplier. Where we at Technical Foam Services Ltd are different from standard foam suppliers is in our design and development capability.
We possess the conversion facilities that enable us to modify and create foams to fulfil specific functions. With our stock of 300 different grades of foam we are able to cut and shape a large variety of different foams into an even larger variety of end products.
Foams are used in so many applications that even experts in the application of foam are probably unaware of many uses that are less common. This is because foams properties are so varied and its ability to be shaped in totally bespoke ways means that it can be utilised in a huge variety of uses that could simply not be envisaged by one person. In essence, the people who are at the forefront of developing uses of foam are actually the end users. The foam developers such as ourselves are very much focused on executing a foam solution that will deliver the requirements of the end user. The people who are finding new uses for foam may ultimately know very little about the development and conversion of foam itself.
The properties of foam that make it so versatile are very varied. Some foams are fire resistant, some offer great water repellence whilst other foams would be rendered totally useless without their ability to absorb large quantities of water. Some foam products are developed for solely fun uses and use bright coloured foams for maximum visibility. Other applications depend on discretion and the layman may never be aware of the use of foam in many such settings.
