Solar Panels and Their Use
Solar Panels are not a thing of the distant past, not are they something that is seen on the television or in movies, but not used, effectively, in homes in the UK, the United States, and countries all over the world. It makes enormous senses to capture the rays of the sun for electrical use in homes and businesses. The use of solar panels not only creates electrical efficiency, they also provide cheap electricity.
The initial cost of installing solar panels on the roofs of establishments, especially homes, is well worth the cost. In fact, for many, the cost of the panels and installation pieces is the only cost involved. The reason for this is that for the average handy person, the actual work can be done without having to pay someone else to do it. It is very possible to install the panels and necessary materials by following the directions for installation and doing the work with one willing helper. Installing solar panels can be equal to any home improvement project that people choose to do themselves. The maintenance aspect of keeping solar panels in operative order can also be accomplished without paying others to do this for you.
We installed our own solar panels on our roof several years ago, and probably long before most people even thought about using solar panels to save money on electricity. We use solar panels to heat our swimming pool in our home. The panels provide a nice warm temperature in our home pool, and we pay absolutely no money per month or year to get this needed heat for our pool. Without the solar panels, we would not have a suitable water temperature for swimming, and we would probably never use our pool.
The solar panels on our roof provide the energy that we need to heat our pool, and more importantly, they provide a comfortable water temperature. It is so comfortable, if fact, that we use our pool often, and we do not have to worry about the high costs of other types of heating possibilities, though we maintain our dual fuel tariff for the household energy supplier.
When or pool was added to our home, we did pay an electrician to install the electrical apparatus that is necessary to operate the solar system. It was part of the initial price of the pool's installation, and having it done at that time was cost efficient. As far as the installation of the actual solar panels on our roof, we did that job ourselves. It was done by two of us, and while it may have taken longer to do it ourselves, it was really not that diffficult of a project. The worst part was getting on and off the roof to actually do the job. Doing the work ourselves was well worth the effort for us.
We have had to do a few repairs on the system over the years. We have also had to replace a panel or two, and we have had to replace connectors and pipes occasionally. This happens when the sun beats down on any roof, but it isn't much work to do the maintenance part of the job, either. Solar panels and the electricity they provide for our pool has been well worth the initial cost, effort, and maintenance.
