By using the thermal effect of the sun's rays, water is converted into steam which is then run over turbines to generate electricity. This electricity can then be transmitted and distributed to homes for use in lighting and heating.

Although solar power is considered expensive, what many people do not realize is that the more this technology is used, the more affordable it will become. In addition, using this form of energy can help in conserving the depleting fossil fuel reserves as well as preventing the production of greenhouse gases that result from using other forms of fuel. There are several companies that make available solar technology and products that can be used in homes. Using these products can help make a difference to the environment and save energy costs in the long run.
