Rosalyn Sussman Yalow left her mark in the field of medicine by developing radioimmunoassay

(RIA) technique, along with her fellows Roger Guillemin and Andrew Schally. For the same this American medical physicist received a Nobel Prize in Physioloy Medicine in the year 1977. Radioimmunoassay (RIA) technique was an important invention that was used for measuring substances in the human body found in tiny quantities such as viruses, drugs and hormones. This technique is also used for screening diseases such as hepatitis or any other hormone related problems in the blood, especially after people donate blood. It is also used to mark the presence of any foreign bodies in the blood stream which allows them to detect even some types of cancers. Founder of this famous invention, Rosalyn Sussman Yalow obtained her PhD from University of Illinois in 1945 and also found her life partner Aron Yalow there. She is listed among the most famous American Women Inventors for bestowing science with this important invention. She received awards like AMA Scientific Achievement Award, Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research and National Medal of Science.

Giuliana Tesro is yet another celebrated name in the list of famous American Women Inventors. With 125 patents in her name she left a mark on the world by developing flame resistant developers. She also developed and patented processes to prevent static accumulation in synthetic fibers, found better permanent press properties for textiles and discovered procedures to make manufacturing units work with the peak efficiency.

Basically an American chemist Stephanie Louise Kwolek was successful in inventing an exceptionally strong and firm synthetic material known as Kevlar.
