Some Sites To See When On Vacation In Mexico City

The fast pace we all seem to be experiencing these days sometimes just demands that we get away

, refresh and unwind. It's good to know that you don't have to travel any farther than our southern neighbor, Mexico, to enjoy an exciting yet relaxing experience but travel here will demand that you have either a passport book or passport card. You can get your passport card online if you plan to travel by car or by train but if you will be flying, you will need a passport book.

I'm sure you realize that all international travel requires a passport but you may not be aware that if your travel to a location near the United States and are utilizing either land or sea transportation, only a passport card is required. These are less expensive than a passport book and there are courier passport services available online waiting to assist you with the process.

If big city life is your thing, you will want to visit Mexico City. This is the capital of Mexico and is also its largest city. This exciting city offers the traveler great cuisine, colorful festivals and nightlife that never seems to stop. The Mexican culture lends itself to fun and celebration so getting away to this exciting city is sure to put a smile on your face.

Believe it or not, Mexico City is an excellent place to experience the arts. Mexico City features more museums than any other city in the world. It also is features the third most theatres in the world, right after London and New York. The Palacio de Bellas Artes features performances of opera, theatre, and concerts. The famous and beautiful stained glass curtain is lifted before each performance, and the theatre also features a museum where you can see more than 6000 masterpieces by famous artists.

If you want to get away from the hustle of the big city while not leaving the city, visit Coyoacan. This is an area of Mexico City void of the hustle and bustle and is a section of cobblestone streets and beautiful gardens. It's the perfect location to enjoy a picnic with your family or just take a good old Mexican siesta.

Mexico City is also a place where the old and the new coexist beautifully. Not only do you have all a modern city has to offer, ancient history can be explored by visiting the Pyramids of Teotihuacan. It is always a good idea to do some research before you travel because it is much more enjoyable and enriching if you know a little bit about what you are looking at. These pyramids are covered with ancient carvings known as sand hieroglyphics and reveal a long since vanished powerful civilization which is revealed at the Temple of the Sun and theTemple of the Moon. Another temple, the Temple of the Plumed Serpent, will take your breath away and provide an experience that you will certainly want to share when you get back home.

Mexico City has so much to offer the visitor that it is hard to only name a few of the attractions but get your passport book or card and see for yourself.
