Because of this, many people will believe that things are unlikely to go wrong in their new property. This feeling of reassurance and comfort applies particularly to the wiring and plumbing systems which will be brand new in new homes.

The wiring in new homes will be recently installed to the latest standards, so the people moving in can be reassured that the wires, their insulation, and all the associated equipment will be of the most recent design. By associated equipment we mean switches, light fittings, sockets and fuse boxes. Indeed it can be said that the often the people themselves who are living in new homes are younger than the people living in older properties. This is of course a generalization, but it may have an element of truth. Often a new property development will have many young people and young families living there.
