Some Tips On Organizing Cocktail Parties
For those who have already experienced hosting a private cocktail party single-handedly
, they might have probably realized that a cocktail party could become more difficult to manage as the number of guests increases. Some party hosts end up being stressed out and too busy doing the jobs of a bar tender and caterer rather than enjoying the party and socializing with the guests.
The situation can of course be remedied if bar tenders and caterers will be hired but this option is costly and impractical if few guests are expected to arrive. This is especially true for cocktail parties intended for closed friends. On the other hand, for bigger events such as corporate cocktail parties hiring bartenders and caterers is the best option. Renting cocktail machines otherwise known as daiquiri machines, slushie machines or slurpee machines could also be a practical choice that could make the party more manageable.
Using rented cocktail drink mixing machines will help in simplifying the dispensing of drinks. The party guests can simply help themselves in refilling their glasses. Some companies that rent out cocktail drink mixing machines also offer pre-mixed and pre-chilled drinks that are delivered contained within the mixing machines.
It does not matter what is being celebrated in a cocktail party. It could be a book or art work launching. It could be a corporate send out event. It could be a simple gathering of friends. It could be a house warming party or a ribbon cutting event for a new business establishment. The purpose and the venue of party are not necessarily essential in the preparation process but they can determine the theme of the party. Well, the party theme could simply refer to the type of food and drinks that will be served. It could also refer to the dress code of the party.
Planning at least a day or two ahead of the party event is crucial in minimizing the risks of mishaps during the party. The menu for drinks and food (especially the hors d'oeuvre) should be well-defined.
Aside from hard liquor drinks, softer alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks should be prepared. Beers, wines, champagnes and carbonated drinks should also be prepared for those who do not want to drink hard liquor. On the other hand, the food should be prepared in bite sizes. In this manner, the guests can talk, eat and drink while in standing positions. If larger portions will be prepared, plates will then become necessary.
