Sony Ericcson Unveil The Vivaz Pro
Sony Ericsson have released details of their new Vivaz pro Handset
. Following on from the success of the original Vivaz which was released earlier this year, the Pro targets the user who is likely to message or e mail more thanks to a full Qwerty keypad being incorporated into the model.
With regards to design, the Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is a compact and stylish looking handset. Despite being 2mm thicker than the original Vivaz in order to incorporate the keypad, the phones measurements are still a compact 109 x 52 x 15 mm and the weight is a respectable 117 grammes. The display used in this handset is impressive. The 3.2" TFT display boasts a huge capability of displaying 16 million colours in addition to a very good 360 x 640 resolution. The screen is a capacitive touchscreen with an accelerometer chip to facilitate auto rotate functions. The fact that the screen has a scratch resistant coating is an obvious attraction, anf the turn to mute function is a polite way to silence incoming calls by simply turning over the phone. When the phone is held lengthways the screen can be slid upwards to reveal the full keypad. This makes the composition of e mails and messages very easy. The keys are well spaced out and very responsive. Obviously if you do not wish to use the keypad then the screen does offer a touch sensitive traditional numeric keypad as well. In its closed state, the screen dominates the front of the Vivaz Pro's design, with just enough room for three slender buttons located beneath the screen.
The multimedia functions of the Vivaz Pro certainly match the high specification of the display. The camera function is capable of capturing photographs with a resolution of 5 million pixels. Autofocus means that the pictures always look as clear as possible, with face and smile detection helping the photographer pick out the faces in a crowd. For lower lighting conditions such as indoors or evening time than a good quality LED flash is fitted. GeoTagging is also supported, noting the location of every snap you take. Perhaps the stand out feature of the camera on this unit is its video function. Whereas it is often an afterthought on many models, Sony Ericsson have enabled this unit to capture video in the hallowed High Definition format. Recording in a resolution of 720P (the P meaning progressively scanned), the camera films at a rate 24 frames per second. Autofocus is continually enabled and a handy video light is available. The internal memory on the phone is only 75MB, but microSD allows for cards upto 16GB to be fitted, with an 8GB card included when purchased.
The Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro is destined to be another popular model thanks to the addition of a full Qwerty keypad. This will appeal to business users or people who frequently message, but the host of other function means it is a great choice for nearly everybody.
