Sony Ericsson Zylo Overview

The Sony Ericsson Zylo was released in July of 2010

, and the phone has received mixed reviews from the people. It is not a smart phone, and in this age, a simple phone does little to pique the interests of the people. However, the Zylo is Sony's latest addition to its long line of Walkman phones, and the phone is the perfect choice for everyday users. Featuring a small 2.6 inches screen with a display of 240x320 pixels, the Sony Ericsson Zylo is a slider phone with a traditional keypad. The screen has 256k colors, which are average in today's advanced era. However, on the upside, the phone has an accelerometer sensor for automatic rotation and the scratch resistant surface ensures that the phone remains free of any scratches or sufferings on its falls.

The Sony Ericsson Zylo supports a memory card of up to 16GB, but the built in memory inside the phone is just 260 MB. However, it does not support WiFi connectivity, and this is the feature that really contributes to the low sales of the phone. Threaded view messaging is an engaging factor for many people, but it doesn't quite impress on that front too. However, the business end of the phone, which is why it is acclaimed for, is the Walkman player, which features beautiful playing themes that are sure to keep the everyday user interacted and engaged at all times.

There is a Stereo FM Radio with RDS installed in the phone as well. The phone has an integrated Walkman 4.0 player which extends its support for files such as the FLAC formats, AAC, WAV and MP3 formats. There are applications for all the social networking websites that are available, and you can easily access these inside the phone's entertainment section. The usage of the accelerometer sensor makes it an interesting blend for many people because they can now play motion based games on the phone as well. The phone has a talk time of a maximum of 4h on a 2G network and the evaluated talk time on a 3G network has been set at 3h 30 min.

The camera is also quite good for a phone of its size, with a 3.15 MP output that can take pictures of up to 2048x1536 pixels. There is no secondary camera installed in the phone however, which poses quite a problem for people who wish to video call. The Sony Ericsson Zylo also does not support the standard 3.5 mm audio jack, and you can only use the Sony earphones that come with the phone when you buy it. The Sony Ericsson Zylo is available in three distinct colors, namely the Jazz Black, Chacha Silver and the Swing Pink. Overall, the phone is quite a handy buy for those people who just want to keep a connection with the outside world, because for one, the lack of smart phone capabilities really sets the phone behind and for two, the phone does not have a lot of options inside that would impress users.
