Mini split are conditioners are commonly installed in homes with radiant panels, space heaters, and other heating systems. They can be perfect alternatives for small apartments and additional rooms specifically if the ductwork installation is not possible.

A split system air conditioner such as a mini split system provides various advantages. The primary advantages are associated with flexibility and size. Since they are small units, they can easily be installed. More so, their flexibility is perfect for warming and cooling of rooms. Most of the models of mini split types encompass 4 indoor air-handling units, which are connected to a single unit placed outdoors. These 4 indoor air-handling units are able to cool down and heat up 4 rooms or zones.

Most often than not, mini split types are easier to install as compared to other types of air conditioning systems. This is to say those mini splits types only require holes that are 3 inches in depth to connect the indoor and outdoor units. More so, manufacturers of mini split types provide several lengths for the connections of conduits.

On the other hand, as much as there are advantages, a split system air conditioner such as mini split types also have disadvantages. One of the main disadvantages is associated with price. Mini split types have prices ranging from $1,500 to $2,000 per ton of cooling capacity. Thus, if these mini split types are compared to ordinary window types or other central air conditioning systems, they cost 30% more. In addition, the cost of mini split types with the same capacity as other air conditioning systems is doubled.
