Springfield, Louisiana is a town located in the United States with a total population of 407 people according to the last census taken in 2009. The town covers an estimated 1.4 square miles of land and derived its name from the numerous artesian wells that may be found within its confines.

Demographics

The town is primarily occupied by Caucasians who make up 96.20% of its total population. Minorities include African Americans 2.03%, Asians 0.25% and other racial groups representing 1.52% of this total. There are approximately 162 households in the town and 115 identified families. There are 282.4 people living in the town per square mile.

Of the 162 households recorded for the most recent census, 51.9% were married couples, 23.5% were minors,that is under the age of 18 years, 12.3% were single women having no spouse and 28.4% did not live in any particular family arrangement.
