Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide - Best Way To Use Zerglings

In this Starcraft 2 strategy guide I'm going to be discussing some of the best ways

you can use your Zerglings to ravage the competition in online play. Zerglings without the Metabolic Boost upgrade are not very useful. You should always try and get the Metabolic Boost upgrade as soon as you can. Zerglings with the Metabolic Boost upgrade are often times called Speedlings.

Here are some of my favorite Speedling Strategies.

1. The Mineral Harassment

This strategy works very well against all races but it works particularly well against Zerg players. Typically Terran and Protoss players will build a wall making it difficult to get your Speedlings into their base. However, Zerg players can't build a wall at their ramp. We can take advantage of this. Take a group of Speedlings and run past the enemies units and head straight for the opponents mineral line. Kill as many Drones as you can. If you can kill enough Drones your opponents economy will be destroyed. This also works very well on expansions.

2. Scouting your Enemy

For the extremely cheap cost of 50 minerals, you can build 2 of the fastest scouts in the game. Speedlings make great scouts because they are very cheap and will always tell you what your opponent is building. When you have an extra Larva simply build a Zergling, when they finish send them both towards your opponents base. They move so fast they can move past your opponents army and will give you valuable intelligence.

3. Flanking The Enemies Army

Its always a nice idea to have a group of 20 or so Zerglings set off on the side of the map ready to flank the enemy. When a large engagement takes place with your main army, send your Speedlings behind the enemies units to attack his most valuable units and make escaping almost impossible.
